Dear OLC Families,

This past Sunday we had our first Family Mass at the 9:00 AM Mass. Our parishioners were excited to see the OLC students, in uniform, helping to collect food for the OLC food pantry. We hope you will use this special monthly mass to make it a special day to celebrate your family and being part of the OLC School Family.   The next Family Mass will take place on OCTOBER 15, 2017 and will be hosted by the 7th grade.

Please have your child bring at least a $1.00 donation. Thank you for your generous support.

CLICK HERE for this year's schedule (this schedule has been revised since last week)! If your child did not receive these sacraments and are in third -grade or higher, please call the school office! Registration for the 2017 Kicker Outdoor Fall Soccer League through Berwyn Recreation has been great! Our goal is to have two parent coaches per team. As such, we are still looking for some parent volunteers!

Coaches NEED to have completed a VIRTUS training session, submitted an electronic background check, and completed a CANTS form and a Code of Conduct form for the 2017 - 2018 school year. You can access the links to these four requirements at   CLICK HERE

As of this writing, we have finalized practice for the Kindergarten and 1st Grade team on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. at the school field. Practice for the 4th and 5th Grade team will be on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. at the school field. Practice for the Middle School team will be on Mondays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. at the school field.

We have enough registrations that the Kindergarten and 1st Grade, 2nd and 3rd Grade, 4th and 5th Grade, and Middle School teams should all be official Our Lady of Charity School teams and not be cooperative teams through Berwyn Recreation. We expect that the Preschool team WILL be a cooperative team through Berwyn Recreation.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers are required to complete all of the Protecting God’s Children requirements. This is a 4-step process. All volunteers need to complete an online background check, attend a VIRTUS session, and complete a CANTS form and a Code of Conduct. The CANTS and Code of Conduct arefilled out every year and returned to the school. To sign up, please scroll to the bottom HERE Please mark your calendar- OLC will be hosting a VIRTUS session on October 14. More info to come regarding when you can register.

Child’s Birthday

Your child’s birthday is such a special day! Please remember that they are permitted to be out of uniform to help celebrate. We love to celebrate with them at school by announcing their name during morning announcements as well as giving them a birthday sticker and pencil. If you child would like to bring in a treat we would recommend a non-edible treat such as stickers, pencils or a book to donate to their classroom library. If your child wants to bring in a sweet treat, please keep it simple. Remember that all items must be store bought and may not be passed out until the end of the school day.
