OLC WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

September 29, 2023

Dear Parents, 8th graders took their class trip to Springfield by private coach bus this past Tuesday. They toured the State Capitol building, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, and Lincoln’s Tomb. Memories are made of this!

On Tuesday this week it was raining before school. Please remember that “the school is not responsible for students who arrive earlier than 7:50 AM unless they check into the before care or breakfast program” (OLC Parent Handbook). If it’s raining, please keep your child in your car until 7:50. By that time we are at full staff and we can bring them directly inside.

Immunizations: Students who do not have their required immunizations (shots) will be excluded from school beginning Mon, Oct 16. This is per State law. These health requirements may be found on our website here: https://www.olc-school.org/general-info

OLC Cross Country Championship meet is tomorrow at Lewis University in Romeoville; First Race: 9:00 AM

Free tutoring in math and/or reading starts now for all students in grades 1 - 8. Email your child’s teacher, and if the program is full, remember that whenever you believe your child needs extra help in math, reading, or any subject, you can reach out to the teacher directly.

Picture Day with VanGogh School Photographers is Tuesday, October 3. Students will need to be in formal uniform.

We have Early Release on Wed, Oct 4: thirty minutes before the regular time.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Thurs, Oct 5, 1:00 - 7:00; Fri, Oct 6, 12:30 - 3:00. A reservation link for an appointment with your child’s teacher will be sent to you next week.

No school on Mon., Oct. 9
